Star rating of health plans is a new, yearly comprehensive measure of health plan quality across the country. This rating system was developed by the Federal Medicare program, which rates plans on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, with 5 being awarded for the highest quality.
We are pleased and proud to report that all of MVP Health Care’s Medicare Advantage plans are rated 4.5 stars for 2012 in each of the regions we serve! This is a reflection of our commitment to quality and service for our members.
The star rating system provides you with an impartial way to compare Medicare health plans on overall quality and service, and determine the highest quality plans in your area.
When rating plans, Medicare takes many things into account, such as:
- Member satisfaction
- Customer service
- The care members receive to help them stay healthy
- The care members receive for chronic health conditions
- Patient safety
The Federal Medicare program is administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS is a branch of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
